I am now the proud owner of a new pair of hogg allweathers.

I like alt berg kit .........ever since I was issued a pair of peacekeepers in '98

I still wear them .......after a good refurb back at alt berg they are still my winter boot for work

so I took the plunge .......reckoning 10 yrs of mo bike touring with the hoggs works out at £17 a year

As I sit typing this they are on my feet now..........straight out of the box and as comfy as hell.

I prefer the 'combat' type boot for touring,I can get off and walk around without looking like a gorilla with lumbago

I can now retire my matterhorns ,which were comfy and waterproof but lacked upper foot padding over the left toe..............BMW gearboxes arent known for lightweight operation

I know allot of folks look at them as having little crash protection........but its a well made pair of boots and should tick all the boxes for my style of riding .

+1 :thumb2

I have the Clubman Roadster Microlights for about five or six years now, can't seem to wear the bloody things out !

:D

I tried them but liked the lowa gtx combat high legs more, goretex as well, special forces can't be wrong:augie

Love mine , only need to take a single pair of boots on holiday , they go well with anything , Best money i spent .

I've got Altberg Clubmans and Hoggs plus a pair of Daytonas. The only problem with the Hoggs is the day you forget your wearing lace up boots with lace cleats on them and drag your foot over the pillion seat when getting off ripping it open in the process !!!!!

ALTBERG

Hoggs for me best boots i have ever had ,they even kept my feet dry at storming the castle a couple of years ago:beerjug:

was up at Altberg today with another convert; also put my 10 year old clubmans in for a complete referb (£67)

They have a new motorcycle boot under development which i'm told will be the first newby in a long number of years; it looks top notch (didn't have camera:blast) and should be out by end of year.:thumb2

Hopefully its something with a tad more protection. I quite like the idea of Albergs, but they do just look like walking boots.

BOREGO HIGH BANDOG BOOT

Got a set of ebay that are the wrong size 9 small if anybody whats them for what i payed before i put them in the for sale section, looking to cover what i paid never been ridden in or worn. £80.00

yep; they look more like conventional mc boots but the leather work, zip and fittings are top drawer - they feel quality; i just couldn't stop stroking them :D

As i understand altberg boots come out well on crash testing; although obviously not off road boots:thumb2

Pair of Clubman classics, 13 years old, bit tired now but still OK :thumb2
Pair of Hogg all weathers, 4 years old and almost as new :thumb2
Worth the cash, and I'm not that good at looking after them and they get a lot of (ab)use.
Only other boots I use are German army para boots, ther're good kit too. :thumb2

+1 for both my pairs of Altbergs (one Clubmans one Classics).

Best, most comfy and most waterproof boots I've ever owned. Can ride all day and then walk all evening in the same pair of boots. Brilliant.

I guess you've never owned a pair of TCX Infinity GTX boots, then. I'm more impressed by mine than I ever was by my Clubman Classics.

If my Altbergs ever wear out (by wear out I mean beyond recovery with the £45 refurb) then I'll consider trying them. Until then I'll stick with the Altbergs (which should last me another 20-30 years, allowing for one refurb per pair per half decade).
