I'm getting rid of my stock switchgear on my R80gs para & wondered if anyone had any pics of alternative choke locations. I have seen some earlier models have the choke on the side of the airbox/ engine which is cool however looked like they are part of the cast pieces.

Anyone done anything similar otherwise I may just get rid of the cables them selves & turn the levers when needed.;)

The early airbox and starter cover are easy to fit but you would need to fit the earlier choke cable mounts to your carbs.

The early airbox changes the characteristics of the engine though, instead of having the standard big dollop of torque that falls away above 4.5k you end up with a more progressive torque curve. You'll also need a larger main jet.

I've had one on mine for a couple of years - currently running the standard airbox while I mess with a few things

Thanks Rob - any pics of the choke side?

I love Dynos- every Friday avo I finish work early & check out the dyno room at the local bike shop. Been some interesting projects up on there.
