Altberg Sneeker Aqua.......100% waterproof, all day comfy, bought second hand for £70 very happy..:thumb2

I've been wearing Altberg motorcycle boots for some twenty years now and had them re-soled once. Comfy on the bike but less so for walking around in them, so I've now bought a pair of Altberg 'Field and Fell' military boots off eBay which should be just right. It'll seem odd not having the usual calf protection but I'll get used to it.:thumb

The hole point of this thred was to point out that there are other items on the market that don't say its for motorbikes but work just as well, if you check my other threds you will see what I mean, extending my footpegs for off road, using bike pedels, creating extra waterproof storage under your topbox using down pipe, things that can be adapted for a small cost rather than the expensive named brands, just because you own a gs doesn't mean you have to follow the main stream, its about what work,,, thats my point,,,,

Nippy Norman has made a very good living from watching American forums as to what the BMW industry are doing, what goes down over the pond,

Love the army boots that's been posted on this thread I think I will be looking out for a pair for when I'm out on my bobber, they look really cool and practicable.

I'm using Lowa German para boots. Been re soled twice as I wear them for dog walking and work. Still fully waterproof and as comfy as slippers with good levels of ankle protection.

Can you post pictures of the german boots please

Good points on the boots and it better to be comfy than a slave to the ATTGAT police on the bike.

As pure bike boots I love my Daytona Trans Open but for day to day riding I wear cheap walking boots. I did buy some HG short boots which were far too much money and although they were OK, they were not as comfy as walking boots.

On my long haul US trips, the Daytona's only come out in bad weather or on the dirt

Thank you sgt bilko that's exactly my point about walking boots, but also I will be investing in a pair of Amy boots because I can afford to buy two pair rather than paying hundreds on one pair of motorbike boots
