Hi guys,

I will probably be cutting my exhaust nuts when I replace the downpipes, and when browsing on Motorworks I saw these clamps as an alternative:

Has anyone on here used them? They look a bit clumsy to me, and I am not sure about them. Any comments appreciated.

Thanks,

Monty

My Nuts get one chace with the claw spanner,:)
IF they don't move easily it's the chisel  without a second thought:rob

New nut £9:thumb2
Head thread refurb upwards of £70 per head :(

I've got at least 4 spares here at any one time [large and small fin]

I've been using a BMW specced exhaust thread lubricant from Motobins. Very pleased with it so far, Exhaust nuts come undone easily with the spanner but have yet to work loose on the move :thumb2

It's a castrol Optimol anti sieze paste.

Excellent advice chaps, and thanks for that. Does anyone have anything to say (good or bad) about the clamps that I linked to in my original post?

The reason I ask is that a pair of exhaust nuts and a spanner is £35 or so delivered, and not sure if it is worth spending double that to move to clamps. I think they do look a little unsightly, so I am not sure.

Once my subframe gets back from the powder coaters (tomorrow with a little luck) I can focus on the exhausts, and then getting close to being on the road again. :thumb
