Alternator Belt

My alternator belt will need replacing soon.

Is this a relatively simple, do it at home yourself job, or does it need special tools and skills?
 
Ce n'est pas un morceau de gâteau, as the French probably (don't) say:

The pulley wheel on the 1200 is not adjustable, meaning you have to stretch the belt like hell.

It is possible to turn the back heel with your feet, whilst stretching the belt, whist keeping your fingers out of the way, whilst not cutting the belt..... The BuMW tool might be handy.
