Any thoughts on likely suspects for a no charge condition with the charging light staying on??.. So far I've run the following diagnostics: Checked all charging circuit connections. Diode board removed then visually & ohms tested all solder connections and diodes as well as swapping the board out with a spare unit without change. Rotor ohms tested & swapped out to be double sure. Swapped out regulator & stator with spares and still no change. Checked charging circuit harnesses & connections and all seems ok. The system is standard O.E. Bosch throughout. Additional thoughts and ideas greatly appreciated.

Can you check the AC volts between the phases at the diode board?

If there are no AC volts then the field coil (stator) circuit is broken.

Hmmm, theoneandonly hey. Your forum name alone says enough.

To the others, thanks for your replies. I've since traced the fault to be an intermittent rotor short to ground. Cheers. :)

it was said tongue in cheek .:D

many things will work on their own , but not when plugged together . the moto guzzi system is identical ( nearly ) . you need to check them thoroughly one by one . and then check again , just to be sure.
