Hello
I have a good look round the forum and think I may have solved the issue, but need some more advice. I run a camcorder on My BMW R1200gs and noticed I am getting a lot of whine when I play the video back. Good effect but gets a bit annoying after a while. Disappears when the music is playing on the Zumo and when I talk. It has to be alternator.
I run:
Autocom 300 with pillion output connected to camcorder via a ground loop
I have a Zumo 550 fitted.
Have I got a bad ground for the Autocom ?
What do I need to sort it:
Better ground - Presently Autocom goes to ground on frame
Another Ground loop isolater
or an in line noise filter fitted before the Autocom.
Going round in circles here...
Help

Take a resistance measurement between your Autocom ground and the -Ve terminal on the battery: It must be less that 0.5 ohms to qualify as a decent length of copper wire for this kind of kit.
