What's with the ALTIME readout. Mines been halted at 999.59 all evening. I even turned off the ignition to see if that would advance it. Maybe BMW didn't think the LC would last 1000 hours?

Mine was the same. Hold down the info button (or the other one, whatever it's called) and it'll reset. Yes I agree this doesn't make a huge amount of sense. :blast

Oh, so it's a user resettable counter? I'd assumed it was some weird lifetime tracker. I guess I could use it to time eggs boiling.

fussy clocks,

Wow now I see what people mean by hard to read Speedo. Countries with kilometres have easier to read Speedo.

...and that is a close up picture!
Try reading it from a sitting back position and with a 40yr old's eye sight!
I'm just glad the digital readout has a speedo...otherwise I may have racked up a few points by now :augie

So are you saying that you can set the LCD to give you a digital speed read out?

I didn't know that!

The digits on the speedo are far too small, I agree.:rob

Most of the time I'm going too fast to take my eyes off the road.:D When I do look down though, I use the GPS speedo on the NAV IV, as this is actually correct.:blagblah:D:beerjug:

Yep, that's one of the first things many owners do.
I have range to empty on the top line of the display and digital speed readout on the bottom line of the display.
Can't recall ever looking at the speed dial after I first brought the new bike back to my place and set up the display to suit me.

Sanp. I have the speed in the top righthand corner of the digital display, and cannot remember the last time I looked at the circlur speedo

Same here. Although I have set up Nav IV to read the bikes fuel gauge and so far it's been spot on.

All well and good but how do you set the display to show speed? Thanks
Well, contrary to Georgeeboi's reply, all I did was toggle through the options for the top "Trip" screen with the "Trip" button on the lefthand grip. Was it was showing the speed I just left it. Now, whenever the ignition is on it has the speed there. I assume it remembers the last displayed/selected option and puts that up when you switch on the ignition

Not a right lot of good on the Continent if it cannot be changed to KPH!

Thanks. I'll give that a go although I don't know what the "onboard computer pro" is or whether or not I've got it!
That "Count" chap seems to know his stuff though. He's also been most helpful on the bluetooth issue. Cheers:beerjug:

Yep, a useful post from Count. He no longer posts on here though, just lurks in the background. I think someone upset him.:comfort
