Just back from the Alto Turia -

A fantastic event with 5 great days of great trails

The Airhead did good against a field off 62 mostly 250's and 450's coming in 23rd.

The event did not start to well with me doing no more than fifty yards before I filled the engine with water, on the next day Dave while riding the special stage bust a couple of ribs and fractured his elbow.

I also came 4th in my age group and best of all 2nd in my class '650cc + trail bikes' and picked up a little trophy :)

Well done. :thumb

Think how much better you'd have done if Brian would have given you the lessons you asked for in the other thread. :augie

Tell us more! :thumb

I recognise #38, Simon T aka Desert Rat, looks like he's shed some of that winter plumage.... :augie

I lost 5 pound during the trip. Thanks for the compliment:rolleyes:

I came 34 overall out of 62 that finished. 74 started.

32 in my class out of 57. Enduro’s etc. 9 out of 20 in the over 50’s.

Wreford was a monster on the airhead. I think he surprised a lot of people. :thumb2

well done fellas, great results and a great time by the look of it and you did not have to take that 0.02 of a second decision and run someone over

excellent riding/navigational skills :clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

great result Wreford, and a good effort Dave.:thumb

And Simon...

If Simon did not spot that I'd lost the plot due to dehydration on the last day it's quite likley I'd have got lost and been late in.

He rode behind while I drank and got myself together and then gave me the prompt to get a friggin move on - I only lost a minute because my start date was later than his, Simon having stuck with me took the bigger penalty

Congratulations to all who took part. :thumb

I noticed a "Peter Van Den Bosch" in the results, any relation to Thierry Van Den Bosch, the SM racer?

Not sure... But on one day there was a road liason back to base that was 14kms of smooth tarmac hairpin bends droping down into a valley and back out.

Simon on his KTM450 and me on the Airhead had a serious case of red mist and where giving the full SM nutter b@stard (in our opinion :)), the airheads tourque could keep Simon at bay on the way out but he'd out brake me - that's 110Kilo's v 210kilo's for you

It then turnned into a long stright where the Airhead max'd at a true 160kph

And we did oal this on offroad tyres and mouses - My tyres where to hot to touch by the time we goty back:augie

I got the red mist on Monday :augie

dehydration and lack of calories was an education. I thought I could ride all day without eating.

It ceratainly affects the concentration. I was totally wasted.

I'm already preparing for next year !! Should get past day 2 :o)

210kg, I thought Simon said he'd lost some weight. :augie

You forgot to mention that I did get past you:D albeit we were both on the wrong side of the road going round a blind corner:eek:

It was like having a race track to ourselves for 30 mins with no cars on the road.

What's Simon and Dave checking out

Oh it's a big hole full of water

Anthony's got through OK

Called that one to early he's decided to check how deep it is

To deep for the Airhead

Just how much water can you get in an Airhead
