Looking to get some crash bars this month, has anyone got the Altrider bars from Nippy's? I have the sumpguard & luggage rack and they are good quality but I can't decide between these and the ad-spec bars!!

Just purchased and fitted the Alt rider crash bars in black for a 2008 1200gs - from Nippy Normans. They are very good quality. (stainless steel)
Two things to bear in mind
1 the bars have to come off for a valve service
2 You definately need two people to fit them and remove them.

However they look great in black and I feel confident they will do the job.

Very pleased.:D:

I went with Adventure Spec bars and sump/filter guard. Both were easy to fit and require only one person.

I have the altrider crash bars, good fit and can take sidepanels off with them on.

I just fitted the SW Motech ones and I'm very very happy with the look and fit.

... apart from sourcing a missing long bolt for the sump guard that is - a misunderstanding on AdventureSpec's part, I think.

Here is a plee for all add-on suppliers (and AdventureSpec in particular) - please, please just supply all that is needed to fit the item and if BMW won't supply bolts/specialist washers/whatever or torque settings, just sort it with suitable caviats.
