Am i being a Muppet

I have just fitted my Fastway pegs, but the springs just don't look right.
Can anyone tell me if they are please. Here are the pics,

that's not right. the springs hook over the mounts just like the bmw ones did.

trouble is, the fastway hooks aren't wide enough & need bending.

second trouble is, they're effin hard to bend

oh, and they tend chip the paint on the footrest hangers too
