Am I being a plonker? Advice from wise heads needed...

Congratulations Wolfboy, welcome to GS ownership, the only bike you ever need !!

I reckon the lowered seat is essential unless you are over 6ft tall or of massive inside leg, my mate persevered with the standard Adv seat for a year, then tried the lower one and had to have one. I could hardly get his bike off the sidestand it was ridiculous until the lower seat was fitted. He finds it so much better, though a little less comfy on a mega-tour as the padding is a bit thinner.

I went the easy route and bought the 1200, and I love it.

Enjoy the bike, the more you ride it the better it gets.

Congrats on the new bike! I was just about to ask if you got it but you've beaten me to it. That's a hell of a good deal you got! And if you like it now, just wait til she's run in...:D Here's hoping the money bit goes smoothly.

Keep an eye on this thread, I'll let you know where the next monthly meet is, once we've decided.

Thanks fellas.

Not sure about so much money though, would be nice.

Still bricking it about the size... off down the gym tonight.. ;-)

Well done!

Nice one, Wolfboy. You won't regret it, I can guarantee that. Trouble is, times's gonna stand still for you now - 11th August will seem like 6 months away!

While you're down the gym, see if you can nick one of those weightlifting belts... might save you the odd hernia or two :D

Thanks for the invite Dave, I pick my bike up on the 12th, so I wouldn't be 'dressed appropriately'. ;-)

Can't wait, it's only 2 weeks, but it seems like ages.

Thanks again.

Well, 2 weeks came and went, picked up my bike this morning from Mill in Sunderland...!!

It almost didn't happen as the were some queries on the finance, worked out eventually though. Have to say seeing the sums of money in black and white like that is rather sobering.

I have started to get my head around the size, a couple of weeks and I might not notice... yeah right!

Cruising home was mint, as it was chucking it down, but my toes were warmed by the cylinder heads and my hands by the heated grips, very peculiar feeling... ;-)

The lads at Mill were spot on, have to wait and see now though.

Any way thought I should thank everyone on here for there advice.

See you later guys.
