After me recent trip away I thought I had developed a warped disc as the bike was "serging" under braking.
Done the usual tests and to be fair the discs seem to be in very good condition with no run out. (New discs fitted before trip)
So look at the discs (wheel still in bike) and the discs seem not to be sitting centred on the wheel, seem to be rotating in a oval movement.

So taking off the wheel and the disc I notice that the holes in the discs for the bolts to go through are not round but elonggated holes so when the spacers are in and the bolts done up a little the disc can move around the wheel anout 5mm.

My question is how the hell are you meant to centre the disc or like title am I missing something here and being totally stupid.

There must be a reason for the holes to be this shape and not round so can someone please enlighten me as to how I get the discs fitted right on the wheel please.

Thanks

Our GS's have Oval mount holes, because they are 'Flouting Discs' and can move about on the hub.

Thats what I was thinking but once torqued up the disc does not move and I think thats whats been happening, the disc has not moved so the pads have been rubbing on the part of the disc it should not have if that makes sense.
