Am I missing something?

Hi Dal, there is a allen bolt that fits in there when the shock guard is fitted, which it doesn't look like is fitted to yours.
I took mine off to fit a MudGuard, so did you take yours off, or was it like that?

I bought it as you see it pictured.

What does the guard look like?

I had a look on the BMW parts microfiche and it doesn't show anything

Dont worry about it then !

Or maybe ride out this weekend to a BMW dealership and eyeball a few gs's to see....:)

Not worried about it, just want to know whats its supposed to look like, I bought it used so it could be missing or not there to begin with :nenau

Curved peice of black plastic that goes around the rear of the shock. About 8" long and about 3" wide if my memory serves. Mines somewhere in the garage as I took it off when I fitted a Mudsling.

It sounds as though the previous owner probably had a mudsling fitted and when he was selling the bike he took all the saleable parts off and sold them on and forgot to fit the original guard.

This is what it looks like..

Ahhhh so that's what should be there. Thank you!

So how does that differ from a mudslinger?

Mudsling much bigger..also covers the gaps in the frame where the back of your legs get spayed when its wet...
