Well as this site is for enthusiasts
I was in the garage with the 1100 & 1200 gs & thinking why do i like them so much more than the jap bikes i have had in the past (still have one) is it the teleleaver front end or the single sided shaft drive may be it's the boxer engine with its easy to service layout, i'm not sure what it is .
The one thing i do know is it will be one hell of a bike to make me move on from the gs :beerjug:
And no amount of other peoples problems will change my mind ,thats your problem :D

The best seller?

I am not sure but I believe that the 1200GS is currently the best selling model from the whole range - so obviously there are a good many more of us who feel as you do! (It is my 8th BM during the last 30 years.)

I'm still waiting for something better than my 1100 to come along. It's been a long wait so far,and nothing on the horizon yet :beerjug:

Wouldn't mind a bit more power

But otherwise love it to bits :thumb

Should be ordering an 07 model in a few months to replace my 05 :clap

Hmmm ... had a wander around South Wales Superbikes this Am, just to see if anything tickled my fancy ...

.... but no - I was glad to ride off on the GS: owned it 4 years and not tempted to chop it in at all.

You are not alone.....

I think my 12GS is the best all rounder I have had the privilage to throw my leg over..... There are better bikes for specific purposes....... (1100/1200s for fast roads, Beta for trials, Kawasaki for MX, any make for crashing!) but to get on and go.......

No contest.......! :thumb

I can't think of a bike I'd rather own (assuming I can only have one bike, of course). It does so many things so well, but most importantly, it makes me grin every time I ride it like not other bike I've ever had.

Looking at the sales figures, we're not alone! The only downside is that when I bought my first GS in 2003, there was a certain exclusivity and individuality about it.
