Am unsure following a test ride

I took a new VFR800 out for a 30min test ride before I bought my GSA. Didn't like it, too heavy on the clutch and throttle. Seemed fast enough, looks really nice but was for me at least uncomfortable. Couldn't wait to take it back! The GSA on the other is much nicer to ride. Taller, nice easy going clutch and changing the exhaust system makes a noticeable difference on performance - although it's not in the same league as a VFR.

The 1150 are better compared to the newer 1200 imo is bull, it's horses for courses and nothing else! Wouldn't catch me on a 1150 = ugly & heavy!

Unsure ?

Same as me!

I will reply in a longer format elsewhere, but Ive just picked up my 1050ADV.

after riding all afternoon, which normally would leave me bu@#ered - I just love it. Its amazing how such a bike handles. Where I would normally hit the brakes...I now just lean a little bit more with full confidence. I am starting to think I only need one bike. ...and these things are fast.

I think its a wonderful machine.
GO FOR ANOTHER TEST RIDE !! Motorways AND TWISTYs - 2 + hours then come back here?

Nuff said?
Now...Off to the Pub...

Trouble with the GS now is there over hyped esp the 1200 since them two pillocks road around on them.
Lot's of non bikers have tried to buy into the whole lifestyle and tainted the gs bigtime. lights and touratwats farkles abound
where the gs was good was the 1100/1150 era, you had to wait 6months for delivery of you bike,And yes worth waiting for.
1200 are everywhere, dealers are overloaded with them,So you have to keep them or take a BIG hit. Keep the VFR:thumb2

I strongly disagree!

If it wasn't for Ewan Mcgreggor and Charley Boorman I doubt I would have heard about this great bike which I like alot! They did alot to promote this bike - and their TV series was great! Inspiring even to get out there to do your own adventure. Charley Boorman came to Plymouth recently and I listened to his talk - he's a realy nice bloke - genuine! People who slag these guys off are idiots imo!

Seems that some people with the older models have had their cages rattled through their little hidden secret being shouted from the roof tops - no longer a secret anymore! Will have to see about the market being flooded with the 1200 though - still wouldn't stop me owning one though!

That's not me in this photo with Charley, This guy has never passed his test, he rides a 125cc and will be or has ridden to Scotland and back on A & B roads in a 3/4 day trip!

Paul, my poor boy would be gutted to hear you say that. Yea he is an 1150 but sure looks better than the standard 1200 imo, more muscle lookin character about it. If ya gonna have a 1200 then go for the adv I say :D

Hi Summer, I'm just balancing the argument that suggests 1150's are best!
