The new 1300adv test ride.

Just curious but did the dealer swap the spotlights ?
Yes, I agreed it FOC as part of the purchase of the new bike.
It did take a while apparently as they had to plug it into the computer for it do an update on the software on the new bike to code the spotlights in.

I tried one today for about half a day. First 30 mins i was, yeah its similar to my 1300. When i got onto the A roads i was seriously impressed. Drops in to corners and stands back up similar to the GS, suspension bump absorption is better, soaking up a bit more, basically it handles on rails and is great fun. The bars may be a tiny bit wider on the GSA, the seat was no comfier, passable but not sumptuous, wind protection about the same - pretty good, heated grips and seat a bit lame compared to my bike. Maybe not quite as lairy as my bike on the throttle gunning it, but both stupidly quick. You sit a bit higher up which i liked, it seems more roomy in the top half, legroom is about the same.

I did notice in tight filtering in town I was looking down as well as up due to the crash bars proximity to car doors.

Its a superb bike, not looking to change my bike and didn't talk money, overall I feel its an improvement on the standard GS, the brushed metal tank is a also touch of class, it doesn't feel a ridiculously heavy bike to move about in a carpark, albeit i didn't have much fuel in it.IMG_7487.jpegIMG_7488.jpegIMG_7489.jpeg

Exactly what I want to hear. And I'm coming from a 2018 GSA, Also, That's the manual version.? ASA ? Did you notice the GSAP was smoother ?
Roll on March :thumb

That's the manual bike I rode last week. It was ok but not £10K better for me to change from my 2023 GSA. The quick shifter was only slightly better going down the box, and the same as mine going up, still a bit dodgy from 1 to 2. If I was to change at some point it would have to be ASA. Was glad to get back on mine, but that's because it's mine and already paid for. If I'm honest, I didn't find the handling any different to mine. And the bars were too low. But, when I am ready to change that's what I'll get. I Iike the looks in the flesh. TB is definitely the way to go, the tank finish is stunning.

All the reviews I've read and seen, Suggest, the bikes with the ASA are much smoother, This is due to no actual linkage between the Gear shift lever and control, instead just a switch, Also mentioned, the auto shift between 1st & second with ASA is silky smooth too. I'm so pleased I have gone for the ASA, to me, Its a natural, Progressive move forward. The times I've been in traffic, Getting pissed off with the clutch, or, freezing cold hands and coming off the heated grip to activate the clutch. Cant wait !

This is all true, I rode the GS with ASA. That's what makes me say it would have to be ASA. it was good and was easy to get used to there not being a clutch. If mine wasn't only a year old, this is what I'd be getting. Bet the wait til March will be difficult :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Manual , the ASA was out on a ride I have not tried the ASA. I would be chasing the ASA if after another. I think the GSAP was a tiny bit smoother than mine but not worlds different, the gear change slightly better but only marginal, it still has that old mini sound on a close throttle at lowish speed. Overall it's lovely, you will be a happy bunny!

Went over to Williams Motarrad in Manchester today for a mooch round
I am not interested in a GSA, same as I didn't want a 1250GSA, just not for me
The TB tank is a lovely finish
They had 8 in the showroom which were sold, and more ordered, so doing well initially
What they did have was a Trophy GSA with all the stick on bits. It was jammed between the window and the reception desk, so photos are limited
Tank bag looks useful, retails around £270. It pivots on a hook fastner back towards the seat for fuelling. Didn't ask about any other costs
The panniers looked neat and solid. Thay have a silver one one side and a black the other
I haven't seen the luggage / bag stuff for the GSA, so if anyone's interested, here are some
They did say the updated luggage for the GS will be out new year, not from Touratech but another manufacturer. Will look similar to the failed ones as the TTech top will continue to be sold, they say

The harshness of the suspension would depend on what the bike was set to in settings. There are lots of combinations of -2 to +2 on damping in each riding mode Rain,Road, Dynamic,Eco , Enduro pro,Enduro pro, Dynamic pro.
Hi mate I tried the auto version of the bike in manual mode today and totally agree with you it is a lot better than my 1250 gear changing up and down with my foot.

All that luggage just to go to Starbucks.....

And there is flat area on the top sides of the tank to rest your coffee....but only an expresso or the handle bars will knock it off

Why is it called Triple Black when the tank is mainly a pewter grey with aluminium panels ? It looks good but the name is a bit daft when large bits of the bike ain’t black ?

I like a tinted screen on a GS

Dunno! 🤷‍♂️ I agree. Think 'Triple Black' has just become a marketing/style name thing. It's more of a 50 shades of grey edition in my opinion.

I've never owned a black bike or car car for that matter, look good when their clean but a twat to keep clean but if I was in the market for a GSA I'd get the tb👍
