one of the things that has allways narked me with the intaride Rp1 system is the difficulty posed at adjusting the volume of music which is played through my Mp3 player through the intercom, either its set much to low or much to loud, in fact with the cheap Mp3 player i use it has allways been much to low, even when the intaride has been turned up to its loudest (i use earplugs, so this does not help), eventually i came across this site, think it was someone on Ukgser, who pointed it out :thumb

http://www.Electric-Avenues.com

cost is US $65 which includes delivery

I got this a few weeks ago, so have just got around to temporary fit it, it now goes from no volume, to very loud and whats more, as the volume is a corded remote, it can be placed where you can adjust it whilst moving, it also works of bike power , has 3 inputs amplified to go into one output(not really needed with the Rp1 system) Gary who makes and supplies them seems to guarantee them indefinatly and marks them as low value for import purposes. :beerjug:

ok, the Boyd Fazer is resembling a power station under the seat, but it was well worth the money imho :clap

Nice one. :thumb

I think the Ampli-rider is just what I need. Just fired off an email to enquire about delivery etc.

:clap

Well I ordered one about ten minutes ago. Paid via Paypal, about £35 including delivery.

I've just had an email from Gary (the designer and manufacturer) to say that it will be in the post first thing in the morning and here in about five working days!

If the Amp works as well as the service, it will be a top piece of kit. :thumb

I've been waiting for something like this for ages. Amp, hard-wired into the bike's power supply and a remote volume control.

Just an update on this one.

The unit arrived this morning and now have it fitted, wired into the bikes power supply and have tried it on the road.

This is in my opion a fantastic piece of kit, really adds to the quality of the sound even through what I would consider basic Autocom head phones, real increase in sound quality and paticularly in the bass produced.

Has an additional benefit in that the Ipod volume can be turned down which will potentially save on battery power and therefore increase listening time while riding.

The rotary volume control is very easy to us even with gloves on and the seperate amplifer is easy to tuck awat out of sight under the tank.

Highly recommended, seriously considering the portable version for use when off the bike. :thumb

Mine turned up last monday. Looks a fine bit of kit but I haven't had an opportunity to fit it yet.

Nice to hear that it does what it says on the tin. :thumb

Ampli-rider and Autocom

This amp may be just what I need also.
Just one or two questions to anyone who uses one with an Autocom.
The sound source plugs into one of the three inputs. And the amplified output goes in to the Autocom.
Is this correct?
Then the output from the Autocom to the headset is louder?
Does this extra volume overload the headset speakers and make them crackle.

Many thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes connection is as you describe, all you need is another lead.

Out put to the headset is easily controlled with the rotary volume knob and can be not only louder but "deeper", over all much improved and definetly easier on the ear.

No problems at all with crackling even at full volume, thing is I doubt you would be able to take full volume without ear plugs in. :D

Thanks Thunder.
I will be ordering one tomorrow and passing on info to a few mates who might be interested.

Cheers :thumb

So just a lead with two plugs, one each end, is all that's needed?

Do you have more than music wired-in?

I know this sounds daft but connecting to the Amplirider as described, will it increase the vol of anything powered by the Autocom, i.e. SatNav audio?

it will only increase the volume, if the item is plugged into the amprider, through one of its 3 imputs, if you do that, then all inputs will be at the same output volume level

Yesterday I ftted my amplirider to my 1200 - quite easy - and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. And Gary's service etc was excellent. BUT it does suffer dreadful interference. I have it connected via my Autocom which previously produced interference free sound (albeit at too low a volume). Now I have a constant whine, once the engine fires - not dependent on revs. Have tried a different power source (no change) have tried screening the amplirider unit (no change). Any suggestions. For information, I have the autocom under the seat, the amplirider under the nearside tank cover, just above and forward of the battery. The remote volume adjustment I have up in the cockpit, attached to the inside of the screen on the nearside.

Sorry to appear thick here but my Autocom takes the input from my music source and the SatNav (so that it can mute the music when a voice-prompt from the Nav comes through before returning to the music), will the AmpliRider not just increase whatever is coming from the Autocom if that's plugged into it? :o

Mike

It won't in fact because the Amp Rider is between the music source and the Autocom, the Autocom unit itself is not using the Amprider.

In anwser to your earlier question I have my satnav and mobile connected to the Autocom as well (using one of autocoms splitters as there is only one input for auxilary sources) and both mute the music as before when in use.

JUst back from a decent run out in the Mournes and the Amprider worked brilliantly, very easy to control volume with the rotary knob using my thumb as I have it mounted on top of the clutch lever housing.

Not suffering from any interference on mine, where have you taken the feed for the power from?

Thunder,

Thanks for that. When I get around (soon) to fitting it, I won't now be scratching my head quite so much!

I've picked it up from a source that feeds my auxiliary lamps - so it is ignition live. But I checked that and tried it with a feed direct from the battery - same problem.
