Anakee 2 tyres

Anakee 2's First thoughts

Just had some Anakee 2s fitted by Ride In in Reading (£219 fitted..usual great service) after years of Tourances. Now done 350 miles and these are my first thoughts

Good stuff

- Great turn in...make Torances seem a little stodgy but am comparing old tyres versus new.
- Great grip and very predictable
- More stable with allot less movement on overbanding and less squirming around on that shite we use to resurface roads in this country

Bad stuff

- the noise....is it just me or are these things bloody noisey. A whine at low speed that rises to a roar at high...my usual high speed blast down the A3 seemed a lot less comfortable as a result..have others experienced this.

Unless this noise goes as they wear in I will seriously consider changing them before our euro trip in May....should have stuck to plan A and put Roadsmarts on!

Cheers

Hi All
Shortly I am due to change tyres on my GSA 1200, currently have Battlewings fitted.
Anyone had any experiance or has used Michelin Anakee Tyres, if so what are your opinons?

I ran my 2007 GS ADV on anakee's then anakee 2's without any problems, beautiful ride good durability, good handling and they are multipurpose..

Much more than I can say for my current set of pirelli's.. p.o.s tyres.

Same for me with my '06 GS :thumb2

Yes now that you mention the noise I agree, but didn't notice high speed whine..Wouldn't go back to tourance's again...
I think when you ride in the rain if you havn't yet you will be surprised how they grip in wet conditions. This out weighs the noise I think.
I had no confidence in tourances on wet roads.

Glad it's not just me on the noise thing...beginning to think senility had set in.

Agree on the Tourances, the block pattern does make them squirm around a bit in the wet but put them into a corner and they do stick but not the most confidence inspiring tire out there.
