OK I am going to get pelters for saying this probabley but someone who get 16+k miles from a rear tyre is not the person I want to tell me how a tyre performs so for this test.... I'm out!
Edit the tyre he had taken off looks like new for the first two inches from the outside edge of the tyre!! What does this guy do drive dowm motorways for the entire life of the tyre.

Are they supposed to be dual purpose :rolleyes:

Probably but they will be just as useless on dirt as tourances etc. They are designed to look like they are dual purpose when in reality they are only a half decent road tyre which last longer than PR3's etc.

At least the original Tourance had a tread pattern that resembled something that might work offroad. This style along with the Trail Attack as you say are completely useless off road. Why compromise when there are great tyres out there like the PR3 and Roadsmart -

Fashion......;)

A guy had these on a tiger at an abr weekend. Crap on wet grass. And didnt really look as if they would be much good on anything but tarmac.
There is no center tread atall. Got some funky grooves cut in the tread patternthat doesnn't look as if it would do a great deal either.
Be nice to see what people think...

Had a good look at these on the Michelin stand at the Excel MCN show the other week and I have to say reviews are very positive and they do look very good close up. They are probably more road focused than the Anakee 2 but since most GS riders don't venture off tarmac could be the next must have tyre. Universal tyres were doing a special offer of £165 a pair with free fitting (£15 cash back per tyre from Michelin at the moment used against their fitting charge until end of March).

Interestingly the new water-cooled GS on the BMW stand had a set of Tourance tyres fitted that I hadn't seen before. Again look far more road orientated, called the Tourance 'Next', details here;

Lets hope that these will last longer than the Anakee 2's as mine only lasted 5000 miles:eek::blast
