Ride only at night, you won't see the cable ties and they'll last longer as will your tyres.

NOW i'm confused
as i ride the older more basic Airhead, should i be using baling wire or string?
and if it's string, should it be sisal or hemp or maybe even flax?!

Well, I got a big bag of silver cable ties. They look great and the bike is still holding together pretty much as it has done.

Went out in daylight yesterday and they are still hanging on in there. Also seem fairly salt resistant too!
