I have an R1150GS. Blew the rear wheel bearing recently. Apparently this is a common fault. anyone had the same thing happen?
I also have a knock coming from somewhere on the bike.:augie

Thought maybe we could talk about bikes. Seems to be very few posts about bikes.

Just saying.

So, just to clarify.

As far as the moderator for the Scotland section of the UKGSER.COM forum is concerned, any tech talk of BMW (Or any other?) bikes is to be directed elsewhere as this is not that kind of place. :rob

Ok

My dad grows tomatoes anybody had a similar experience?:blast

I had the same problem, one minute it came from the left side then from the right side and back to the left side and so on. It got worse when I turned the throttle. BMW said they all do that :rob

Feel free to start a thread aboot anything in here. Whether anyone joins in will depend on whether or not it's of any interest to them. Why the big fanfare aboot it though?

The Moderator for the Scotland section of UKGSER.COM (his name's garfield BTW) is entirely correct in pointing you in the direction of the numerous other sections on this forum that are awash with bike styelee threads and posts.

You might also try the search facility. That will throw up (no pun intended) possible answers to you query about other peeps with similar problems to the ones you're experiencing with your bike.

Good Craic? Have you thought aboot a Username that mair suits your posts to date? :D

One minute he's upsetting the herbal girly drinkers in the SS and noo he's complainin' aboot the way the forum works (or disnae in his opinion...)

I still think he's somebody's alter ego :augie

Now then, If I wasne me, Ah'd probaly leave breadcrumbs fer the other me to pick up and comment on. Would'nt I? But Ah am me, so I probly didnt and am just a sh*te bag? Course thats if it is me in the ferst place.

Obviously Ah'd nae claim tae be me either cause that would be the moggi oot oh the pooch. Or maybe Ahm misunderstood and just havin the crack.

we don't do bikes in the SS, we do Jaegermeister and Fighting in here and occasionally listen to Oonyack worrying about the English throwing him off his little Island......:oonyack

there's a comprehensive library off all the crap that's gone wrong on the antiquated bikes some punters on here seem hell bent on riding, you can find that elsewhere on the site.....:D

'Blew the rear wheel bearing recently'

didn't know there was one :)
There is an output bearing in the bevel box? This holds the flange that the wheel bolts to.

If it's the bevel box output bearing, mmm, i'd think it's an exchange job.
I changed the bearings in a worm and wheel final drive on a Sunbeam S7 years ago. :rob

I've had this feeling for a few days that someone is having a conversation for a few days....maybe it's just the paranoia getting the better of me....:comfort
