Hi

I am trying to load my old v5 memory map ordnance survey maps into my new nexus 7

I have downloaded the android app into the nexus

I have connected the nexus to my laptop

I have copied over the files............mine end in qed not qct or qc3

my nexus doesent 'see' them when I open the android app and list 'all maps on device'

what am I doing wrong?

have a look where you keep the Memory map program/ map data on the PC and make sure

when the explorer/file manager windows opens
goto Tools-Folder options a dialog box will open
click on the view tab and ensure "show hidden files" is selected

once this is done double check the folder where the qed files are as memory map on the PC anyway uses both
If memory serves correctly the qed files is the OS pictures(IE the map) and qct is the height and location information, or it maybe the other way round, either way you need both for MM5 to fully function on the PC.

The show all formats is already on.No files of that type in folder only QED.

With the nexus you have to import an older style map before you can activate an app to convert it to new style files.

I have a USB SD card reader somewhere I may have to dump to SD connect it to the nexus then try and get the files opened and converted?....
Pah

Just out of interest what Android app are you using for memory map.
I am using MMtracker on my S2 phone . cost £5 and it works a treat but I understand Memory map have shut it down now.:(

Which app are you using? The Android 4.2 update broke the mm tracker app and there isn't much sign of the developer fixing it since he had a warning from Memory Map about stealing "their" qct data. There is an alternative which I have read will work, Alpinequest, but I haven't tried it. I think there is a free version you can try.

Darn it
yes I'm using the new 4.2 jellybean

alpinequest ...........ok thanks I shall go a looking

If you have a nexus and are trying to run memory map OS maps I can confirm that Mr Walrus was spot on and Alpinequest works great:thumb

downloaded the light version which loaded up my maps ok,so now have the full version for £4.........bargain!

thanks walrus

now about my BSB marine charts.............................

Alpinequest is a superb bit of software even with the default open source maps.
