I have BMW R1200GS 2004 (servo I-ABS model at 72k km) and GS911 Bluetooth device . I bought her a second hand 1,5 years ago without any issues. The motor was always served at the BMW dealer in Germany by the previous owner. I drove her about 5k km till last spring got the yellow ABS warning light ON when starting the engine. I was initially concern about it but after reading many posts "they all have this..." I ignored the problem. Last week I drove in a heavy rain, arrived at my destination however when started her again this time I got RED ABS light flashing. When I drove it a bit the light was gone however when restarting the engine it became ON again. I drove her one week like this ignoring the initial RED ABS light. Yesterday, however even after driving it a bit the red light was still flashing and NO BREAKS. After plugin the GS911 it gave me that the microswitch of the handlebars is not working. That actually made sense, (1) the breaking back light of the motorbike was not responding to neither of the pedal or break handle, and (2) the pressure modulator("servo pump") was not working on applying the breaks(hand break or back breaking pedal). Went to the dealer and bought the microswitch BMW part # 61317671111 for ~16euro, try to change it however the Grub crew (part # 32727673996) was very tide and could not remove it. Just for the test plugged the wire to the new microswitch and the back stopping light started to work as well as the pressure modulator when playing with the new "Flying" microswitch. Then plugged back the wire to the OLD microswitch and everything was fine- back stopping light was working as well the pressure modulator.
One important thing is that even with the “Flying” new micro switch the initial RED ABS light is on.
I cleared out the old error with the GS911 and drove it 200meters. Everything looks ok HOWEVER:
Initial flashing RED ABS light is ON starting the motor and goes always when start moving the bike. BTW, all breaking fluids are at the recommended level (handle bar, next to the back seat back breaking reservoir).
At the moment there is no error message on GS911, RED ABS light initially is on and I DON"T have a clue what is going on , btw breaks are working as before (with pressure modulator) with ABS on both wells.
Following the elimination route, it's not the back servo/speed sensor , I have reading for speed.
I don't have hand guard interfering with the break handle.
New odyssey battery PC535 @ 12,57V
actually non of the 6 well known errors for i-ABS 1 is not present in my case...
Any ideas what to do? HELP!!!
Any suggestions are welcome, except selling it.
...and yes I already search a lot on that opic but no usefull information
