Isn't that were Andy ( bike service mngr ) from Duffy's went to work last year.
BMW seem to be suffering more than most at the moment, partly because there is a drift away from the brand towards Audi, but also they are failing to alter their mindset in these challenging conditions, they believe they sell a premium product and do not need to discount.
Seems to me that the new mini is what is saving the day.
A garage I work in, this week took in a 57 plate 330d m sport, against a new car, the beemer cost 34k just over a year ago, trade in value 16k !!!

I think BMW have dropped the X5 by £8k recently...
its sad but happening all over the country and will continue to happen.
its not just bmw i have heard of two garages in dublin one in clare and one in laois that have closed in the last 10 days
very hard on the family after 45 years in bussiness,it is estimated that 25% of all car dealerships in the country will close this year.
frightning but with no jobs or confidence for people to buy new cars and with the rush to the north the car market here is finished.

Howya, Sorry about the delay in responding, I've been off the radar for a bit.
Yep it was where I was working, I got made redundant in Jan and they closed last week.
I'm looking for a job, anything, down in Limerick area.
Worse bit is my company 'car' - R1200GS went back aswell...

they are also in the reverse of where we were at up north 10 years ago. bmw dealers up here are dinning out on the southern trade coming up and saving a fortune even with the VRT, given the exchange etc. sorry to hear andrew, all the best in the job hunt mate.
