Another butchered RT

On the to do list once it’s made it that far is a speedo, maybe front mudguard and possibly a key operated ignition switch as opposed to the toggle switch. Work in progress.

I found out that you don't need a speedo to pass an MOT but you need a speedo to be road legal. Road worthy and road legal are different things!

Yes.

To start with speedo app on phone will do, just want to get it mot’d and insured so I can take it out for a short run or two and make sure it runs ok.

Don’t need one at all for the MOT.
I saw a bike the other day running a £25 cycle gps which technically isn’t legal as gps won’t work everywhere, but good enough to know how fast your going 99% of the time.

You don't need a speedo for the MOT. You might need a speedo for your insurance. I'm no legal Beagle, but check the road vehicle regulations or whatever they are called. To be fair, I rode a bike around for 3 or 4 years without one before shifting insurers, who got a bit shirty. Just trying to help.

Chances are I’ll get one that cafe racer web shop do. It’s got the right ratio for the airhead, about £60 plus a cable.

Temporary speedo fitted and works a treat - £28. Only on rubber bands so will be moved to centre later. Today was just quick test of that and rear brake.IMG_1695.jpegIMG_1692.jpegIMG_1696.jpegIMG_1698.jpeg

It only went and passed!
With new top speed achieved before realising I still had one gear left as I fast approached the tight bend and had to slow down. Felt like about 120 though haha IMG_1915.jpegIMG_1914.jpeg
