another dumb question

ok how do you remove the seat on a 1150GS i can unlock and remove the back one but i have no idea how the main seat comes off and i do not want to brake anything

Its comes off using the same lock as the pillion seat, just turn it same way and lift back of seat at same time. Mine dont actually lock down properly so yours may be same but basically it lifts from back and slides kinda towards the rear and up :)
 
......and be careful when re-fitting it as there is a low/high setting, make sure you know which one it was on originally :thumb

Caught me out the first time as well...
 
And when refitting don't just whack them down past the latch on the lock - use the key to open the latch as if you were taking them off, push them down, then release the key. The locking bar is made of crappy plastic and breaks easily if abused (mine was cracked when I bought the bike and is now held together with araldite and cable ties :rolleyes:) .

And an OEM lock is £65.
