Well actually its a fuel gauge sender question. I have a 2003 1150GSA, the bigger adv tank has collected a lot of dents and I am about to swap it with a standard GS tank for a while and fix the GSA tank. What I want to know is how to adjust the fuel sender so that it works, remembering that I'll have to unadjust it when i get the GSA tank fixed.
cheers Phil

What do you mean adjust? Surely it'll read half full when the GS tank is half full the same as when the adv tank is half full?

If your planning to move back to the GSA tank soon why not just reset the trip odo when filling up and refuel based on that.

It's the same sensor. You don't need to adjust anything as the height of the tank does not vary, only the width. You will notice it going down a little faster. :D

No worries then. The reason for the question is that I noticed on other posts where people were going from the gs tank to the gsa they were being told to bend the sensor arm to get it to work properly - I thought that I might have to as well, going the other way. All's well if I dont. Phil

Turn it upside down, you can hear the float bouncing off its stops, and again when you turn it right side u, if you hear both then the float is not sticking.p it will work, you just need to do some kind of calibration. I added fuel 5 litres at a time and remembered how it looked.
