Just collected my R1150GS after having the 12K mile service, a 30 Litre Adventure tank fitted, and Wunderlich engine bars fitted by Clarks BMW (Rednal, Birmingham).

Top Job done, usual courteous service - and the bill didn't shock me too much either!

What did shock me however, was how little I was offered against a new Adventure in the showroom that I fell in love with.

I think I'll keep it (for the time being anyway lads!).

Cheers Chris, Lee and the gang - Looking forward to spending more money with you soon!

Keep up the good work.

yellow?

What colour is your bike? I was dropping mine off this afternoon for the famous fork brace replacement . Saw a yellow GS with an Adventure tank fitted, looked the bollox, very nice indeed.... How much was it all in? Mark :0)
Cant fault Clarkesat all they are doing my fork brace and rear rack under warranty and i get the use of a 1100s for a couple of days for free....

Plus............I think that you will find that the level of service in the sales department will increase now that some fat tosser has left..................;)

I supplied the tank (painted) they supplied the engine bars - so fitting of both, with the 12K service and sundry items (link pipes for the tank, oil, etc.) came to £450.00 (Approx).

I think it looks the Mutts Nuts now - very pleased with it.

Oh yes, and it is yellow!

When I enquired about a trade in for the new Adventure in the showroom - they offered me a grand more than that "fat tosser" offered me!

That figures.......... the fat tosser!

Funny I was looking at the GSA in there as well on Friday while I was having my new rear shock fitted, yet another warranty claim!!!!!!!!!!

But I'll tell you what I am prepared to do as its you............you buy it and then sell me that big tank, hows that for a deal then?

Good old Clarks want me to give them 4K PLUS my bike for that Adventure - I don't think so somehow!

I've got a "small" normal GS tank for sale - if that's any good?

Wot da mean.....that sounds like a cracking deal to me?

Already got a small one thanks, just after "mother" sized one, but dont ask me why?

Tell you wot I am prepared to do as its you Moose, sell me yours and I'll swap all yer lights over for free plus I'll throw some DE's in for nothing....hows that for an offer then??

Tell you what I'll do.

I'll let you admire it at the next meeting in Offenham - How's that?

I need to sweet talk you - as I'm thinking of fitting an LED tail light next - and you're the genius with electrical type thingies!

I'm also considering another couple of fogs fitted to the crash bars - but "she who must be obeyed" thinks it'd look like a Lambretta!

Must revert back to Japanese bikes, as I can't stop spending money on this one!

rear shock

Hi Bigtrailbikerider, whats this you had a new shock under warranty, funny that, me too and clarks tell me its the first they have done under warranty.

Seems to me that the corporate line came into play somwhere in the dealings?????????

Basically the Pre Load adjuster was seized. I only noticed it the other week when the missus and I went out for the first time in ages, I tried to wind the preload up and the adjuster just started to lock up after a few couple of turns? Bearing in mind the bike is only 10 months old and has only done 8500 miles.

It just got worse over the following few weeks, it was then decided to reaplce the whole lot in one go.

Now it maybe be a "headthing" but I swear that within just a few miles I noticed a differance between the two. Namely I could feel the arse end moving up and down!

Thanks BTBR - It's nice to know I have "Friends" who will back me up!
