Woo hoo!
The day is here!
After weeks....months of planning and research the big day dawns.
Our mystery trip...all on public transport.....a mystery because even my wife didn't know where we are going until the last day or so....she still doesn't know how! I like to spring surprises!

But first a wee photy out the front door to remind ourselves of what we are missing....

And yes I know the grass needs cutting, it's mostly moss anyway!
If I wasn't going away it would be done this week....it'll need to wait..

A Tesco's big shop is, an adventure once you get older ;)
Just be aware they change the layout every 6 weeks, to keep you on your toes 😁

So I lied...a twenty minute drive to my mates, dump the car and get a lift to the station.
Perth station is a very grand building, well past its best.
All the great and good will have passed through on their way back and forth from their Scottissh Estates....just like us in fact...

Shame about the clock tho'

Clock is showing the right time at noon.
I’m guessing (total guess as no knowledge of up there at all though I did break my leg once near Perth in 1979)…a relatively short trip to catch the Caledonian overnight to that lovely London :)

Now being unable/unwilling to engage on 2 up big tours on the bike, I try to design trips with a bit of a difference...if you want to....come along...or not.
I'm in :thumb2

That station lawn looks a bit thin 🤭
The green is taking over.

There is still something romantic about trains and train stations. Despite the domination of road and air travel, they somehow retain a sense of journey and adventure.
I was born just a few yards from a railway track.
Then spent many of my formative years watching them from my garden as a toddler.
I still have to stop and look if ever I'm walking over a railway bridge.
One of the things on my bucket list is a train journey up around the remote areas of Scotland..... one day.

On through Dunblane towards Stirling. Dunblane always seems a sad place...I remember where I was and who I was with when the reports started coming in about the horrific killings in a school. Awful. I was still in a funny blue suit at the time, and knew it would have savage repercussions..it did. Hand gun ban etc etc. The harsh reality was it was the police's fault...Hamilton should never ever have been given a licence.
Still..onwards...
