Another mystery trip involving many wheels!

More drama!
The bit we were moved into terminates in Basel so we have to move along the train into the 1st class seats to go on to Zurich.
Now daylight so at least we'll get to see some scenery.
Talking of James Bond, the SBB Nightjet we were in is actually run by the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons Lits.....the orient express folk!
The nice fellow has just been and scribbled all over my ticket and I've to go to the Infopoint at Zurich to organise the refund ....yippeee!
 
The place we crossed is at Bad Sackingen. Crossed there 2 years ago on the bikes on the way to Loch Garda....bought our motorway doodahs there...

Haha, I have had a similar experience on the train between Munich and Zurich. It trundled into a station, decoupled bits and then reversed out. All very confusing and amusing.

PS Great thread, as always. Proof, if any were needed, that you don’t need a motorbike or even a car, to have a great time.
 
I'm getting concerned about the lack of breakfast, it's getting late and will soon be aperitif time
 
Pain au chocolat and espresso in Zurich HB....in lieu of my included breakfast in the abandoned Nightjet....that will form a part of my substantial compo claim...together with distressed sleep pattern and distressed ninja wife :D :D
 
I was too taken aback to photy..and didn't want to get lifted...but there was a load of bimbos in their skiddies doing some sort of Greenpeace protest against Dove soap etc on the station concourse....shocking....luckily my mind was concentrated on formulating my claim..
Oddly all their crusties were in varying shades of grey....
 
I understand that the St Gottard base tunnel, through which this train ordinarily passes was damaged some months ago by a freight train derailment, and is unlikely to reopen until later this year.
The trains now have to use the old route which is much more scenic and takes an hour longer...result!
