Cheers for that Mickey. The reason I ask is that at the moment, for Linda any 'maintanence' beyond putting petrol in is a foreign language. I'm going to try to change that, but in order to do so I need to find out about the bike myself.
So far I've come across the things about the gear lever (fit F650 item), the fun with the lack of bush in the clutch cover (get later cover, or have a bush fitted), and the alloy rear sub-frame. I could get that reniforced, but as Linda's insurance doesn't allow pillions yet, it should be OK for a while.
One curiosity I noticed today during a closer inspection, it appears to be half an ABS model. 'Half', because the light is there on the dash, and seems to work in that it goes out a few seconds after ignition is switched on, presumably after doing a diagnostic check.
The switch is there on the right-hand cluster, and the rotor and sensor are present on the rear wheel. But nowt on the front wheel...
Anybody got any ideas, or better still photos/diagrams of the mounting point for the sensor at the front? I've got an idea it might have been removed for some reason, (the last owner lowered the rear brake pedal out of reach 'cos he never used the rear brake).I've had a look at the hand book, but the photos are a bit vague, and I could do with finding the mounting point for the sensor if there is one. Photos of the sensor on Google suggest it might just fit on to a bolt that's there anyway.
It still seems to ride OK (not tried it myself yet), but if it's an ABS bike, all the ABS gubbins should be present.
Also, any idea where I/we could get a new baffle for the (BMW) Akraprovic exhaust? It was there when she picked it up on Thursday, but not on Friday morning in her garage. It's not too bad without, except that it tells the world when she's accelerating hard.

Two other questions: Oil, 10/40 semi-synth OK in this engine? And is the coolant a standard anti-freeze mix?
