You can decide which map to use.
I believe, as the Quest isn't to hand that its Settings, Map Info and then choose select to use City Select or not by ticking or unticking the box.
I previously had a V, but decided to upgrade to a quest as I needed more internal storage for a european trip later this year so i could fit all the maps in.......
benefits:-
Lighter, own internal battery which lasts ages(great on the mountain bike), smaller better shape, suction car mount is superb for my frequent hire car trips, speed of recalculation is loads faster, usb connection makes downloads faster and obviously 240+mb of map storage
Things I don't like
its the cradle where the power feed goes and not a socket into the unit, I always have the sound off as I don't like it, bought it just before the deadline with V6 of maps so had to pay for V7
For each map upgrade there is a ship date and a release date (normally approx 6 weeks before hand)
If you purchase a previous version after the release date then the upgrade to that new version is free.
The only thing that you get free are the firmware updates and updates to the Mapsource viewing and loading program (not maps).
