*************Link to vid is at the bottom if you can't be arsed reading my ride report***************
So that's me had my BM for about 3 weeks now and during that time I have managed to put a decent 1200miles on her (well at least for working 5days a week and considering that only involved about 20miles of motorway!), taking a healthy bite out of the chicken strips and allowing me to dial in the seat, screen, pegs and controls to be the most comfortable.
Even got my first scratches on her too - blew over on the side-stand in a lay-by when I went off to have a piss and ended up cracking the RHS rocker cover making it trickle oil (cost £145 to replace - won't be making that mistake again!). Should prob buy some decent engine guards now too - the plastic ones are obviously gash!
Damage and leaking parts;
Absolutely not regretting my purchase either one bit though (which is always nice!). Only downside is that with so many aftermarket accessories available for the thing I'm struggling to restrain myself! SO far I've managed to keep it to purely functional purchases - extended mudguards and adapters for the power sockets to allow charging of mobiles. However the purchase of a satnav is on the horizon and I can't help but be tempted by the Akrapovic downpipes (minus cat) plus power commander to go with my Akra end can...will most likely use the money on fuel though...
Anyway, here's another of the roads from these parts - the (in)famous Bealach na Ba (Pass of the Cattle, or the Applecross Pass). Its another road which highlights why I love these type of bikes - sure it can be done on a sports-bike (and its not the hardcore off-road stuff that some of you do), but I love the height/presence to see over rocks, having massive wide bars to tip it in, long travel suspension (and ESA) to soak up all the potholes, a torquey motor which pulls from low down (see the hairpins around 3:30) and it's also nice to have the ABS as the roads can get quite gravelly in patches!
Anyway comments, as always, appreciated!
