Within less than 30 minutes of a cup of coffee and a chocolate biscuit at Mottorad Central at Bishopbriggs I was taking this picture. That's your clue, lets see who is first to get location correct.
Loup of Fintry A wee gem hidden away in the Campsie hills.
For anyone interested its a short run from BMW Bishopbriggs. Turn right at BMW/Asda onto the A803 and follow the signposts to Torrance (about a mile away). In Torrance take the B822 to Campsie. Follow that road for a couple of miles until you come to a T-junction with the A891. Turn left towards Lennoxtown. A mile or so down that road there is a garage on the right hand side. A few hundred yards after that take the B822 (Crow Road) up to Fintry. Its a nice run uphill to a viewpoint at the top and then continue for a few more miles on a nice windy road to Fintry. About a mile before Fintry, just after a very tight left hand bend at the bottom of the hill, take the B818 towards Denny. About 2 miles up that road there is a very small lay-by on the right hand side with a gate to the footpath that leads down to the waterfall which is about half a mile walk. I then carried on past the Carron Valley Reservoir and then at Carron Bridge took the "Tak ma doon road" to Kilsyth and home. Going the opposite direction might be better as I think I would prefer going up the "Tak ma doon road", along to the Loup of Fintry and back down the B822 to Lennoxtown.
