My Norton antivirus subscription period is coming to an end and I am greatly looking forward to ditching it together with the Norton Internet Security package.

So I am going to need an Antivirus package and Firewall. I was wondering about the AVG combined package. Has anybody got any experience or any comments? I will be going for a paid for version as I will be using it for business. Getting everything from one supplier seems simpler. Any downsides?

I am not looking forward to removing all the Norton tentacles from my system but expect I'll achieve it eventually.

currently using zone alarm as a firewall and after many years of using mcafee their dim witted registration/log on to their website pissed me off enough to change anti virus.

tried AVG free & pro but am currently using NOD32 which IMO cannot be beaten for slickness & dilligency of updates (2/3 times a day).

What was wrong with AVG ? I'm a reseller for the professional products and would like any feed back.

nothing really, but NOD32 was better. eset's website claims great things for their detection rates and the whole thing is just so professional. the fact they charge per PC is a bit of a downer though :(

AVG appears a bit home made, but i'm sure it does the job well enough and you can't argue with the price of the free edition. can't see why anyone would bother with pro though :nenau

i'm still on the NOD32 trial period at the moment & may well go back to AVG free if it stops working.
