It's a Shield Bug (Order - Hemiptera).

Not sure of the species as I'm not at home, where my books are, but it's a common one, and should be easily identified ~ :thumb2
 
I get a fair few of those on me when I move the boat, mostly plain green or brown though, I think they drop off the trees as I brush past.

Found him as I was parked close to this Hawthorn....so as Shep says ...he must have fallen off it...............:thumb2

One of them hitched a ride inside my Tshirt the other day. I felt something walking on me and immediately assumed the worst. Al Qaeda ninja bug, so i squished him from the outside.
 
My business partner, had to identify a body 20yrs ago and entomologists were called to identify the insect life :eek:

That'd be a Forensic Entomologist...

Basically they determine the age of a corpse from the development of the maggots :eek:
