I see the rear on 170 width has a solid bar, which to my mind means they will last longer than the anakee wilds. I have them on my Scrambler and like them, just wondered if anyone had any feedback on the LC GS or GSA? My concern really is wet tarmac use and how bad they are.

Compound is harder than ,Annakee /Tourance etc
Full gas on my 13 GSA in the wet on Tarmac spins it up easily

I like mine.

In the dry they perform really well. On a trail they are great as well. On wet tarmac you just ride accordingly. They aren`t that bad tbh.

got them on the 1100gs and the ktm 990 love them

Have used them on hire 1200gs/gsa ,several times in Morocco. Excellent long lasting tyre. Good on and off road. As previous post said .. ride acordingly in the wet but are controllable !

Many people have found the K60 grip is better after 1000 miles than when just scrubbed in.

Sent somehow.

#K50 Scout Great Tyres

I've just done 7000 miles on My K60 and found them to be totally brilliant on my GSA 1200 LC (2015), I put them on my Wifes GS 1200 (2016) and she did not even feel the difference or know I had swaped her tyres. We both off road and green lane and they are good in anything other than MUD and SAND (or snow).

As the previous responses, in the wet I ride and expect a little bit of twitching from the rear, but the front has always been stable and I ride aggressively on road. They can get a bit light and start to osolate at 110 mph, but crusie all day at 70-100 with no isues ... just some tyre noise.

recommend buying decent ear plugs as it saves your hearing anyway

I would say they are nearly as good as Pilot 3's / 4's in the dry, yet you can do off roading and green laning

Regards

Nick

Thanks everyone, some really helpful input! I found the negatives on the Anakee Wilds far outweighed the positives when it came to running a set of knobblies for the occasional off road spin but commuting into London every day on them. Dry road grip was well down on the Anakee 3's, which given the blocky treat is understandable! I just didnt want the TC kicking in or tyres loosing grip on spirited road riding!

Yup they do indeed.

Still love em. Rode in in the wet today and no twitchy nowt. Just ride accordingly.

The bed in after a short while and can feel pretty dire when brand new. Light front end, notchy turn in etc , but it all vanishes pretty quick and then you`ll be impressed.

Tried the Scout's down a lane on the weekend and found very little traction on the rear. That solid centre band is like running a slick, unless you're in muck deep enough for the side treads to take effect.

I have a new set of k60 scouts in the garage. Waiting to fit to my gsa when the Anakee 3s wear out.

Does anyone know if they fit with a mudsling fitted?

No idea actually, BUT i went from Anakee 3's to K60s and the bike was noticeably taller, so if the mudsling is tight to the tyre, it may rub.

If I remember correctly Machine Art blog mentions that K60 Scouts DO NOT fit with mudsling but check their website before you order. I've emailed them to query Mudsling fit and some tyres on the market and they've replied that they only know from people experiences ( a bit odd answer!) and the trials they have showed on that blog thngy. So take a look before buying tyres.
