A long way from where I started!
I cant get my mates bike to start.

Its been crashed, but having just fitted a new rocker cover today, thought i'd turn it over.
But, turn the key, press the starter and.............. nothing, no clicks, no nothing, it doesnt even momentarily run the fuel pump as on mine to pressure up the system.
All fuses are ok, all connections are ok, battery is fully charged.

I'm drawing a blank here, andbody know the obvious thing I'm missing?????

Main fuse ?
Sidestand switch ?
Is all the switchgear wiring fully plugged into the loom?
Is the ignition switch fully plugged into the loom?

All fuses are good,
Sidestand switch is good,
Switchgear is good and connected,
Yes.

??? ???

did I mention that the fuel system fails to pressurise too.

Do the lights dim right down when you try and start it??

That'd indicate a jammed or seized starter or solenoid, or worse still perhaps the engine.

Can you rotate the engine by turning the back wheel in gear??

S'okay

Found it.

I've had my doubts about this bike ever since I got it home.
I said to my mate that I thought it was a stolen recovered.

Telltales like the indicators and horm wires cut, oil cooler bolts missing ( light bar ? ) cat and can missing ( aftermarket ? ).

See, Ive just rewired the rhs switchgear, and to be fair, was wondering if I'd ballsed something up.

But, I've just hunted and found the remains of an alarm loom, the wires were cut in such a way that they were hidden behind the lhs downtube of the frame.

removed all the gubbins, reconnected the black with yellow stripe together and job done, shes a runner.

You ever get that satisfied warm and gooey feeling, I have that now. :D :D :D

Thanks for your ideas tho.........
