I went to look at it this evening. It's a 23 year old DR800 that's had a 16K km engine which was sourced in Germany transplanted into it. For the sum that the guys have agreed upon it appears to be a fair deal. It's in pretty good cosmetic order for its age. It started on the button after sitting in an unheated lockup for 3 weeks. It doesn't rattle or smoke unduly. It's got a fresh MOT.
As ever, no warranty is implied or guaranteed. However, if I wanted a DR800 and I don't - it's even taller than my GS, I think I'd be quite happy to buy this one.
And....I discovered that the seller plays ice hockey with an old colleague of mine. It's a sma' world.
