Anyone got a Shoei Multitec, and if so have you fitted the Chin Curtain, and if so, how the hell did you do it

Whisper strip fitted in five minutes, chin curtain, not a chance, instructions like reading Japenese translated into English using google..... wait a minute, may they did

Wierd had the whisper strip on in 5 secs, the only problem I had was the 2 little catches that need to hook onto the bars under the foam

As for the chin curtain, I don't see how it fits over the black lug on the bottom of the lip, just below the red button

The chin curtain just pushes in to fit. Can't go wrong.

The whisper strip was the bugger. Then I went down to the little sales monkey at Infinity and he did it 20 seconds <sigh>.

Doesn't fit over it, it fits around it. Place the front section on first and work outwards.

You couldn't take a pic of it fitted could you, otherwise its back to my Shoei dealer at the weekend to plead stupidity

OK forget this thread, apparently they put the wrong chin curtain in the box, new one ( and proper one ) in the post

"Easy Chewy !" Nice avatar !!
I'd be interested to know if it makes a difference to noise. I've just switched to a multitec after my system 4, and it is SO NOISY !!!

Unfortunately I've never worn anything but Shoei's, and just traided up from a Raid II to the Multitec and not noticed any difference in the noise between the too

Update

OK, finally got round to going back to the shop today and the quickly swapped it for a Multitec chin guard, which slipped straight on, very nice

To answer the noise question, not a bit of difference. I did notice that there was less of a draft around my chin, but noise is about the same as before

It would be as the Multitec uses the raid 2 shell, so all you've done is go from full face to flip.
I had a XR1000 with whisper strip in and only noticed a little more noise

Yes, but you've also got all the hinging mechanism and stuff that lies in the airstream adjacent to the ear. This does generate some noise, but less that on the previous Synchrotech, for example.

It's worth adjusting the visor locating screws to make sure it fits flush to the top seal. There are instructions & it's easy to do. Also, it won't leak.

Well I'm now of the opinion my Multitech was a £280 quid experiment in Aural torture, I've got worse ringing in my ears than Quazimodo, I never had a nosier helmet.

Off this weekend to buy something considerably quieter possibly a System 5 or Schuberth, or back to a full face option

Pardon ??

Funny that 'cos i find my multitec quieter than my system 5, I find it a much better fit than the system 5 though.

Well I took a System 5 for a test ride this afternoon and immediately bought it, not as quiet as my previous full face, but ten times quieter than The Shoei Multicr*p, which is off to ebay and out of my house as soon as poss
