any recomendations for a radio?

thinking in full pipe and slippers mode, I quite fancy listening to Radio 4 on my way into work.

I use an ipod with in-ear headphones, so I'm thinking along the same lo-tec route of a small pocket radio to use with the same Apple earphones. The ancient Aiwa radio I tested this morning was useless - too much hiss and crackle, so good reception is top of the list. Any ideas?

All my experiments with portable radios in the GS have been thwarted by too much electrical interference. I guess it is solvable as I had no problem with the built-in radio in my previous 1100RT.

Anyone got any experience of running a portable radio on a GS, or solving the interference problem?

Not tried this particular modle but a DAB radio will do best... less hiss etc though I can't comment on the interference from the bike - if any - http://www.robertsradio.co.uk/rd4.htm looks like it might be small enough

So it's OK to listen to music etc. in a car but not on a bike...

I've had vibes on all my bike since 1978 and never had a problem..in fact it's enhanced the pleasure...

I tried listening through headphone (Ipaq with MP3's via Intercom), but found it a little too distracting.

I miss having a radio, my ideal would be a waterproof radio with built in speakers that could be mounted on the handlabars, and loud enough to hear when riding without headphones (would also ensure the dozzy drivers hear me coming).

Not found one yet.

I have my phone connected to my autocom, and recently tried the radio that is within the phone.
This worked well, but only for a trip of 20 miles or so.
You would need digital or an RDS radio to keep tuned in on a long trip.

I've got the Ferguson model; less than half the Roberts price & looks identical - because it IS identical IMHO!

Works perfectly on bike - but that 'joystick' control is a PITA even before you wear gloves. Excellent size for top pocket too.
