Anybody tried narrower handlebars?

Hi

Has anyone tried fitting narrower handlebars to their 1200? I'd really like to lose about 2" from each side. Any info' on make and any fitting problems (like cables, pipes, gaurds getting in each other's way) would be very useful.

Two inches from each side is quite a lot.

I plan to lose 2cm from each side and from reading the above threads I think I can do that just by cutting the bar end weights and moving the controls inwards.
