North Face Jackets also often get copied by the Chinese and sold as the real thing. My local Outdoors/Mountaineering shop told me they had a customer come in with one of the North Face Jackets and he asked if they could check if it was the real McCoy. Everything looked genuine including the labels, etc. Then the shop did a water pressure test to check the Gore-Tex membrane. It wasn't!!
Very difficult to tell a fake, even for an experienced eye, but especially for mountain gear, could seriously endanger your life.
