I've got a DB9, which I've been offered £17k for as a trade in against a Porker. There's a fair chance I'm going to take up on the offer but before I do, if anyone is interested in matching it, let's talk.
Some details:
* 2006 DB9 Volante (convertible)
* 5.9 V12 Auto
* 42,500 miles
* Black with ivory interior
* Fairly comprehensive service history (mostly Aston main dealer).
* Last service (specialist): Aug 2025
* MOT: Aug 2026
For 12yrs, it was owned by an old-boy in Nth London, did approx 600miles per year (that's right... 600miles) and serviced annually by a main dealer. It isn't a 'Garage Queen', it isn't without its faults, niggles & blemishes but that's what attracted me to it as you can drive & appreciate it without being too precious about it.
The back story is that I've always fancied an Aston, so last year I bought this on a whim, to scratch an itch and to use for road trips with my partner. However, my partner just can't get comfortable for any length of time due to her back problems
so we've continued to use the Cerbera for the trips and I've been using the Aston for the glorious V12 soundtrack.
So what are the 'niggles"?
* Gearbox - When driving in auto, the changes aren't smooth and can slip in the upper gears when being driven 'enthusiastically'. I deal with this by either driving 'normally' or shifting with the 'flappy-paddles' if I want to get it above 3,000rpm for the V12 soundtrack (as that's when the exhaust valves open). I've not managed to fully diagnose just yet but a worst case scenario is £5.5k (inc vat & fitting) for a recon box from Bristol Transmissions.
* Plugs & coils - It's due a set...
* N/S rear parking sensor.
The car is usually either in Swansea (SA3) or Gloucestershire (GL50).
Drop me a DM if interested and I'll get some more pictures up in a bit.
