Anyone got a spare set of headers

For a 1290 Super Adventure?

If anyone here has a spare set of headers they don’t need for a few weeks, I can send mine back to be recoated, and you can have a nice set of decat black headers for a small fee.

The logistics of getting my bike to the dealer, and leaving it there for a couple of weeks is a bit of a pain, so it makes more sense to get a second set chopped and coated, then get mine off, the new ones fitted, and mine redone and back out to you.

After speaking to the ceramic company, the only caveat is that the donor headers have to be low mileage.

The coating has flaked off, in a couple of areas, so they’ve agreed to redo them. Properly this time.

Ideally under 3000 miles, they said.

If they were sent on Monday, I’d have them back and on my bike by the end of the month, then mine would take 3-5 days before being ready to send/ collect (as you’re local).

No good for me, I have to move my bike around a bit over next couple of weeks due to building work at home, then I am away for a few days Early September.

Also got about 4k on mine currently, will be about 5.5k after next trip....

...I do have a spare rear header if that helps as I fitted the insulated one to my bike, it only has about 2k on it,

They fucked up, but have assured me they know the error of their ways.

Forgive my ignorance but what’s the benefit of ceramic coating? Need to get round to getting mine decatted at some point tho but fear the mileage on mine is too much, 8k.....

Better heat distribution, but more importantly they look good.

No problem decatting with the mileage, the mileage issue is only for the ceramic coating.

Ah ok, no problem. I’ve asked the dealer if they have some they can let me have, but will see what they say.
