I'm looking for a new set of textiles and came across the Rev it Off track Jacket and Dakar Trousers. Anyone used them?
I'm looking for kit thats cool in summer but warm in winter (I feel the cold) and is 100% waterproof. Got £350-400 to spend and wouldn't mind moving away from plane black!

I have their Dakar trousers and very pleased with them. Ventilation seems to work fine and even with waterproof liner I don't find them sweaty. My first waterproof liner did leak at the crotch but on closer inspection I noted that the seam tape had not been finished correctly. Got a replacement liner which was properly finished and no problems with leaks since then. So if buying a pair worth checking finish on liner. ;)

I have never used their thermal liner as I prefer BMW Phase Change or Icebreaker as a base layer and either, or both if it is cold, work well with the Dakar trousers. For a jacket I use a HG Cruise which matches in fine with the Dakar trousers (both plain black :D )

Cayenne suit

I recently bought the Cayenne suit which is the top of the range kit.

The suit scores over the tw@ suit I had before as it has a thermal liner and waterproof external pockets. It's also adjustable on the sleeves and waist for when you have bulky warm stuff under it or not. There are three leg lengths for the trousers as well so you can get a suit that fits. It has just as many vents as the tw@ and is completely waterproof even after 11 hours to and from Skye in various down pours last week :thumb2

My only concern is the size, quantity and quality of the body armour. The knee and elbow pads seem a little small compared to the BWM version. The hip armour is laughable and there is no back protector (although there is a pocket for one and you can buy it as an extra. The body armour says it is CE approved but I'm not convinced :nenau

I'd heartily recommend their kit as everyone I know who has bought it has had no issues with any malfunctions being rectified and everyone seems happy enough. My reservation would be that, whilst it is very good value for money, it's not up there with Rukka and BWM kit.

You pays yer money you makes yer choice :thumb2

The Off track jacket is not a suitable all year round jacket.

I have the Off Track for off roading in and an Explorer jacket and Cayenne pro trooosers for road riding.

I still use a plastic bag type of oversuit as they are the only way to guarantee waterproofness at that kind of money.:thumb

I've had the Cayenne Pro jacket and trousers for some time now and recently got some Dakar trousers. All of it is excellent and the only reason I got the Dakar trousers was because I liked the idea of the cargo pockets. The kit has been excellent and I've had no waterproof issues despite having ridden in torrential rain. I would agree about upgrading the back protector though as the one originally supplied was pathetic.

I recently used my Cayenne Pro jacket in the heat in Bulgaria and Greece, and boy was it hot....even leaving the Goretex liner in place ( takes too long to attach if there should be a sudden downpour), and all zips open, plus wide open cuffs, and it was great -got pretty hot if you had to stop, but once on the move the air blew through and cooled me just fine. Also held up well in heavy rain, so it's OK by me.
Slight drawbacks are that pocket zips don't have the extra zip pulls on them to make life easier with gloves on ( I attached small cable ties !), and the elastic that holds back the collar bit has almost worn through. Anyhow, for the price £299, the jacket is just great- don't have the troosers yet .

I've got an XXL Cayenne Pro Jacket that I'll sell for 150 quid incl postage. Been used for 3 weeks on a trip round europe. It's the bright orange one. Factory couldn't supply the trousers and after not supplying them in time for my holiday and still not having them available 6 weeks after I first ordered them I went out and bought Halvarsons. As a size comparison, I'm a 58 in both Rukka and Halvarsons.

Recently bought the Cayenne kit and it's good. Not quite enough pockets for me but it fits well and keeps me dry. I agree that the armour isn't as big as some, but I have back the armour in place and hope I never need it.

i have off-track/dakar combo, and really put them through the test in Europe during heavy bouts of torrential rain. it's nice looking kit and well thought out. my only gripe would be that they leak like a sieve around the crotch. value for money it's good and i recommend it. as said earlier, make sure to get the back protector upgrade.
truthfully though, if i was to do it again, i'd probably save an extra couple of hundred and get a twat suit. one thing i am learning about motorcycle kit is that you get what you pay for!

How many pockets?

Recently bought the Cayenne kit and it's good. Not quite enough pockets for me but it fits well and keeps me dry.

There are 7 external pockets on the Cayenne Pro jacket and one internal (plus an extra one if you have the thermal lining in). Two of the externals are waterproof. there are also two pockets in the trousers. :nenau

What are you putting in them all?

Have you thought what would happen to you if you crahed with all these things in the pockets? :eek

I'm more of a medium. Thanks for the info everyone, looks like I'm heading to my local dealer to get a set this week!

Hi Mutley
Thanks for worrying for me! and thanks, too, for telling me about 2 pockets I didn't know I had!! I don't like using the upper chest pockets for hard stuff like keys or phones for all the obvious painful reasons. I don't mind using the lower pockets where there's softer bits of me to absorb the impact. I didn't know I had the 2 velcrosed pockets behind the lower front jacket pockets so now I can take 4 cheese sandwiches, my wallet, a pager, my mobile, my glasses, some cash, my zumo key, and a couple of other little bits.
My last set of trousers had cargo pockets which were very good for all sorts of stuff while these trousers are tight fitting and can hardly take a handkerchief.
Cheers
John

I have the off track/dakar combo and am on the third set of liners as the first two leaked. As far as I can tell the third set are OK but have not ridden in heavy rain since I got the latest liners.

In the dry the outfit is excellent and customer service is good. Rev it cliam to have changed the seam tape to solve the problem of leaks. See here ;-
