Anyone had this scary gear lever event?

When you ride off road, it's customary to stop, keep hold of the front brake, let the clutch out and stall the engine.
Leaving the bike in gear, is safer if there is a gradient and it saves all the faff of trying to find neutral.

I think the Simon Pavey ORS school teaches this too....

Bollox is it.

I suggest you buy some off road training? Plenty of guys offer it; KTM , BMW , MotoScotland, Yamaha , Trail and Offroad , Dave Thorpe school ..
You'd enjoy it and learn something ( if you listen ?)

O'h I forgot; you probably cannae afford it. ... toodle pip !

Yes, new boots bla, bla, bla.

When it is in a rut it will stand up by itself, on the sand dig it in, in the water it will lay down, everywhere else you take it as it is. Leaving it in first is optional, bit buggered if you have a Rekluse fitted. In that case you need to use the handbrake.

Come on here and tell me how to ride off road when you know what you're talking about.

Having stalked me (amongst others on this site) via Face Book under your real name of Stuart Watson (StaurtW on here) you will know full well that I ride off road.....................

How's the new job as a Pharmacist going now that you've left British Airways as a pilot. I imagine also that you find Fife very different to your old gaff (you know, that one that was featured in a certain person's avatar on here......................).

I'm sure we'll meet someday, in fact I know we will. I'm looking forward to it :beerjug:

Did it myself yesterday after about 12,500 on this bike. Could be the new boots, but more likely I was careless
