OK here it is then: The ride out is over the weekend 7/8th May. I will leave north Devon 8.30am on the Saturday. Any regulars from Cornwall or south Devon can crash at my (and other people's no doubt) place on Friday including a BBQ and getting slaughtered, I mean a beer :D.
We can be at Taunton Dean services at 10am to meet up with others who would like to join the ride out from there and we could have another stop in Wales if anyone would like to join there. We can then do some roads in and around the Forest of Dean and the Tintern road (which has been rated among the top 10 m/c roads in the UK) on to Builth Wells, Dogellau and in around Snowdonia national park with a night somewhere east of Snowdonia to change, eat and have a few beers.
Sunday morning an 8.30 start with a ride east including Iron Bridge and then over to the National Motorcycle Museum for about midday-ish: http://www.nationalmotorcyclemuseum.co.uk/museum/
a couple/three hours at the museum and then head home.
We will probably need to sort accommodation for the saturday night about 3/4 weeks in advance.

Anyone who is up for this please put your name here sometime before April.

A bump for the rideout.

I would suggest LLangollen for Saturday night. There is plenty of cheapish accommodation in the town and we know some places to stay and a few eateries from the GSer weekend in 2010.

Starting from North Devon, the ride up to and around North Wales should be somewhere between 320 and 350 miles which I estimate to be about 7hrs-ish riding and allowing for a few stops I would aim to be in Llangollen for 7pm-ish.

Sunday would be a 8.30am start riding over to the M/C Museum. I expect to leave the museum at 3pm-ish to head back to North Devon for a 7.30pm-ish finish. Obviously people could give the museum a miss or leave earlier if it suits.

Depending on commitments (etc.!) I am very interested and have been thinking of a similar ride myself (been two years since my 'proper' ride - I still ride daily commuting etc.).

Will sub this thread in an effort to keeping informed.

Work commitments mean I am going to struggle with this ride out. Plus there doesn't seem to be much interest. I would suggest cancelling this ride out and maybe riding over to Steptoe's trip http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264354
and there always Allen's ride out http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263300
