Anyone Know This 80GS?

Front caliper looks too small for the year. Crappy keihin y piece and fasteners look crusty. That's strong money for that bike.

You need to negotiate that down, they will do that, one of mine came from there indirectly at £1800 less than they wanted, just find plenty to crib it on!

Looks OK to me, though I prefer the dual seat,

Well ok apart from the price

Can't help thinking that it's nearly R80G/s money

Which are just as crap but lighter and they don't have that scaffolding fitted :thumb

It looks a really tidy bike, the price is the price. These bikes are all going up in money even the bumble bee like this one. Better buy one soon as in another year or two they will all be out of reach for us regular guys. Look at the prices of restored bikes! Seems the square headlight models are Less expensive than the round ones..... For now anyway. Look at the air cooled 911, nobody wanted the runt of the litter or targa if you prefer, now it's the only one most people could just afford. I think these will go the same way, but then again what do I know?

Might be a distortion due to front mud flap and something to do with the photo but that front wheel looks a bit close to the engine, no harm looking at frame to make sure it's straight and that hasn't had a frontal before.

If you do buy it and decide to sell the solo seat and rack, I would be interested. :thumb2

I don't need too, I have one of each. :D

I've just been asked to sell a 1976 r90s and a1984 r80st,:thumb2
I'm talking to the fella tommorrow to iron out details,
It may come to nothing or the bikes might be shite, but I have a really good gut feel about the owner and the bikes.
Sorry about the slight thread highjack ,but if any of you lot are looking for one of these pm me ,
I will of course start a new thread if it comes off,
But will be happy to exchange details if its something I don't want to get involved with.
Mike

Yep, I reckon you're pretty money on the money there. /5's and RS's seem to be getting more expensive every year too.
